    List of Ingredients


    • 4 pounds beef chuck roast
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
    • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • 1 cup water
    • 3 carrots, peeled and chopped
    • 3 small potatoes, quartered
    • 1 onion, coarsely chopped
    • 1 stalk celery


    Instructions


    1. Sprinkle salt and pepper over roast. In a large skillet over high heat brown meat on all sides 1 to 2 minutes per side.
    2. Place prepared meat and remaining ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours.



    Final Comments


    Yield: 6 to 8 servings

    * for next day open faced sandwiches, discard excess fat and bone, shred meat heat and serve on toasted garlic bread.
