List of Ingredients
- 1 round steak ( 1 1/2 lbs), trimmed and cut into 4 equal-size pieces
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 T vegetable oil
- 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 medium onion, quartered
- 1 can (4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 pkg (1 oz) dry onion soup mix
- salt and black pepper
- ground sage
- dried thyme leaves
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Place steaks in large plastic bag food storage bag. Close bag and pound with mallet to tenderize. Combine flour, black pepper and salt in small bowl; add to bag with steaks. Shake to coat meat evenly.
- Heat oil in large nonstick skillet. Remove steaks from bag; shake off excess flour. Add steaks to skillet; brown on both sides.
- Transfer steaks with pan juices, mushroom soup, water, onion, mushrooms, milk, soup mix seasonings to taste and bay leaf to slow cooker. Cover; cook on LOW 5 to 6 hours or until steaks are tender. Remove bay leaf before serving.
