    List of Ingredients


    • 1 round steak ( 1 1/2 lbs), trimmed and cut into 4 equal-size pieces
    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 T vegetable oil
    • 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
    • 3/4 cup water
    • 1 medium onion, quartered
    • 1 can (4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 1 pkg (1 oz) dry onion soup mix
    • salt and black pepper
    • ground sage
    • dried thyme leaves
    • 1 bay leaf


    Instructions


    1. Place steaks in large plastic bag food storage bag. Close bag and pound with mallet to tenderize. Combine flour, black pepper and salt in small bowl; add to bag with steaks. Shake to coat meat evenly.
    2. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet. Remove steaks from bag; shake off excess flour. Add steaks to skillet; brown on both sides.
    3. Transfer steaks with pan juices, mushroom soup, water, onion, mushrooms, milk, soup mix seasonings to taste and bay leaf to slow cooker. Cover; cook on LOW 5 to 6 hours or until steaks are tender. Remove bay leaf before serving.
