Slow-Cooked Italian Meat Sauce

- 1/2 lb (about 2 links) Mild Italian Sausage, casings removed
- 1 lb 90% Lean Ground Beef
- 2 bags (8 oz each) Cleaned & Cut Chopped Onions
- 1 bag (8 oz) Diced Green Peppers
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1/4 cup dried basil
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 4 Tbsp minced Garlic
- 1 can (28 oz) Italian Classics Whole Roma Tomatoes with Garlic and Basil
- 2 cans (8 oz each) Tomato Sauce
- 1 can (12 oz) Tomato Paste
- Pepper to taste
- Sugar to taste
Instructions
- Brown sausage and beef in large non-stick skillet over MEDIUM heat. Break up sausage and beef with wooden spoon as they brown. Drain well.
- Add meat to slow cooker; mix in herbs, tomatoes, sauce, and paste. Stir well. Cook 4 hours on HIGH or 8 hours on LOW. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and sugar.
