    • 1 (18.25-ounce) package dark chocolate fudge cake mix
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/2 cup butter, softened
    • 1 (3.9-ounce) package chocolate fudge instant pudding mix
    • 2 cups cold milk
    • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
    • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
    • 1 (16-ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided
    • 6 (1.4-ounce) toffee candy bars, coarsely chopped, reserving 1/4 cup crumbs for topping


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350°.

    2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, egg, and butter, stirring well to combine. Press mixture evenly into a lightly greased 9-x-13-x-2-inch baking dish.

    3. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
    4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes. Cover and chill for 5 minutes.
    5. In another mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar at low speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in 2 cups whipped topping.
    6. Sprinkle all except 1/4 cup chopped candy bar evenly over cake layer. Spread cream-cheese mixture evenly over candy-bar layer.

    7. Spread pudding evenly over cream-cheese layer.
    8. Spread remaining whipped topping over pudding layer. Sprinkle with reserved chopped candy bar.
