    Almond Gelato

    List of Ingredients


    • 5 egg yolks
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 2 cups 2% milk
    • 1 cup light cream
    • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
    • 2 tsps almond extract


    Instructions


    1. Mix egg yolks and sugar. Beat until thick and light yellow in color.

    2. In a saucepan, heat the milk to a simmer. Add half of the heated milk to the egg yolks and blend together. Add the remaining milk. Cook on low, stirring frequently, 5 minutes.

    3. Remove from heat and add the cream.

    4. Chill the mixture until cold; stir in the almonds and almond extract. Process in an ice cream maker following machine directions.
