    List of Ingredients


    • 25 3 to 5-inch long cucumbers, washed, drained, and sliced
    • 12 medium-sized onions, sliced
    • 2 quarts ice water
    • 1/2 cup salt
    • 1 quart vinegar
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 2 tsp mustard seed
    • 2 tsp ground tumeric
    • 2 tsp celery seed


    Instructions


    1. Soak cucumbers and onions in salt solution (mix ice water with salt) 3 hours.
    2. Mix remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Add cucumbers and onions. Heat just until boiling.
    3. Pack vegetables into jars, leaving 1/2-inch head space. Fill jar to within 1/2-inch of top with boiling hot liquid. Remove air bubbles in jars. Adjust lids. Process 5 minutes in boiling water bath.
