    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pound sage-flavored sausage
    • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
    • 1/2 cup chopped red pepper
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans (rinsed and drained)
    • 1 cup frozen corn, thawed
    • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
    • 1 cup Hickory Barbecue Sauce
    • 1 package refrigerated corn bread twists


    Instructions


    1. Crumble sausage in pan and cook until well done, but not too brown. Drain fat and rinse with hot water in colander.
    2. Return to pan, add onion, red pepper and garlic. Cook and stir until vegetables are tender.
    3. In large bowl; mix together sausage mixture, black beans, corn, 3/4 cup cheese and barbecue sauce.
    4. Pour into 7- by 11-inch pan, which has been sprayed with vegetable oil. Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cup cheese over top. Separate corn bread twists. Twist each one and place in lattice design over casserole. Bake 30 to 35 minutes in 350-degree oven or until corn bread is nicely browned.
