    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup soy sauce
    • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
    • 1 T Asian sesame oil
    • 1 T sugar
    • 2 garlic cloves, crushed with side of chef's knife
    • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
    • 1 boneless beef top sirloin steak, 1 1/2" thick (2 1/2 lbs), trimmed
    • 4 medium onions, cut into 1" thick slices

    Instructions

    1. Prepare marinade: In 13" x 19" baking dish, combine soy sauce, lemon juice, sesame oil, sugar, garlic and pepper.
    2. Place steak and onions in marinade, turning to coat both sides of steak. Cover and let stand 20 minutes at room temperature, turning occasionally.
    3. Preheat broiler. Place steak and onions on rack in broiling pan. Broil steak 6" from heat source 10 to 12 minutes per side for medium-rare or until desired doneness, brushing steak often with marinade and stirring onions frequently to prevent burning. Keep onions warm. Let steak stand 10 minutes. Cut steak into thin slices across the grain and serve with onions.
