    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped tomatoes
    • 1 T crushed red chili pepper
    • 1 T crushed garlic
    • 1 shallot, finely chopped
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric
    • 1 tsp grated ginger
    • salt, to taste
    • 2 T vegetable oil
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
    • 2 lbs lean beef
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions


    Instructions


    1. Place the tomatoes, chili pepper, garlic, shallots, turmeric, ginger, and salt in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth. Heat the oil in a pan. Stir-fry the cilantro for 2 minutes. Gently stir in the mixture from the blender and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Reduce temperature to low, cover and keep warm.
    2. Cut the meat into 1" strips. Cook the meat over hot coals. When the meat is done, cover it with the sauce and garnish with green onions.


    Final Comments


    Yield: 6-8 servings.
