    Everyone loves a good macaroni and cheese. Even those raised on the "blue box" variety won't be able to pass up this rich and filling winter treat.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1-3/4 cups small elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
    • 1-1/4 cups 1/2-inch cubes extra-sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1/4 cup flour
    • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
    • 1-1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
    • cayenne pepper, to taste
    • black pepper, to taste
    • pinch nutmeg
    • 1-1/3 cups half-and-half
    • 1-1/3 cups heavy cream
    • 2/3 cup sour cream
    • 2 large whole eggs
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1-1/2 cups extra-sharp cheddar cheese


    Instructions


    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. Generously butter a 13 x 9 x 2 -inch glass baking dish.
    3. Fill dish with drained macaroni and toss with cubed cheese.
    4. Whisk together flour, salt, mustard, cayenne, pepper and nutmeg.
    5. Whisk in half-and-half, heavy cream and sour cream.
    6. Beat in eggs and Worcestershire. Pour over macaroni and mix.
    7. Spread remaining cheese over the top.
    8. Bake 25 minutes until bubbling hot and golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before serving very hot.
