    List of Ingredients


    • Dough:
    • 4 cups flour
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup butter, softened
    • 3 egg yolks
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1 pkg dry active yeast
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • sugar, as needed
    • Fillling:
    • 3 egg whites
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 3/4 cup pecans, finely chopped
    • 1 tsp vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Combine flour, salt and butter in large bowl. Blend until mixture is a coarse meal.
    3. Blend together yolks, sour cream, yeast and vanilla.
    4. Add to flour mixture. Stir to form dough. Divide into 4 pieces.
    5. Roll out each piece on surface sprinkled lightly with sugar. Roll each piece to an 11" circle; cut into 12 wedges.
    6. Filling: Beat egg whites in small bowl until soft peaks form. Slowly add sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Spread on dough.
    7. Roll each wedge, starting with wider end and roll to a point. Place point side down on greased cookie sheet, shaping to form crescent.
    8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
