    Hamantashen are the traditional Purim treat that is a cookie or pastry with a hidden inner filling of fruit. But sweet cheese kreplach are another sort of Purim pastry that is just as welcome.


    List of Ingredients


    • Dough:
    • 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup unsalted, melted butter
    • Filling:
    • 3-4 ounce package cream cheese
    • 1/2 lb. dry cottage cheese
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • Pinch salt
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter


    Instructions


    1. Have a well-buttered parchment lined baking sheet ready.
    2. Sift dry ingredients together.
    3. Mix sour cream, eggs and butter. Stir in the dry ingredients and knead for 2 minutes. Roll out on a floured board 1/4" thick. Cut into 4" squares.
    4. Blend filling ingredients together with a fork in a medium bowl.
    5. Place 1 tablespoon filling on each square; fold over to form a triangle and pinch the edges together.
    6. Place in the buttered baking pan and bake for about 40 minutes at 375°F.
