    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup butter, softened
    • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
    • 1 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
    • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp cream of tartar
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • Finely chopped walnuts, melted chocolate, and confectioners' sugar (optional)


    Instructions


    1. In a large bowl, combine butter, confectioners' sugar, and vegetable oil. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed, until creamy.
    2. Add eggs and beat well.
    3. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
    4. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Beat in vanilla. Cover and chill 1 hour.
    5. Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease baking sheets.
    6. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls on prepared baking sheet. Gently flatten with a fork. Sprinkle walnuts on top of cookies, if desired. Bake 10 minutes.
    7. As cookies cool, drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
