    Delicious with any poultry or vegetable entrée


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups Soft Jasmine Rice, rinsed
    • 2 (14 oz) cans chicken broth
    • 2 Tbsp virgin olive oil
    • 1 large onion, chopped
    • 2 cinnamon sticks
    • 12 cardamon seeds, break the pods to get the tiny seeds
    • 5 cloves
    • 1 tsp ground turmeric
    • 1 bay leaf


    Instructions


    1. In a medium saucepan, heat the chicken broth to a boil.
    2. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until almost soft.
    3. Add cinnamon, cardamon seeds, cloves, turmeric and bay leaf. Sauté 2 - 3 minutes to release the flavor of the spices.
    4. Add rice. Sauté 2 - 3 minutes until well coated with spices and oil.
    5. Add chicken broth. Bring back to a boil.
    6. Reduce heat and simmer with a tight fitting lid for 15 - 20 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed. Let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
