Fire Station Chili
List of Ingredients
- 2 T vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 2 cans (16 oz each) red kidney beans, drained
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/3 c chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a soup pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat and saute the onion and garlic for 5 minutes, or until the onion is tender. Add the ground beef and brown for 8 to 10 minutes, or until no pink remains, drain off the excess liquid. Add the remaining ingredients, mix well. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serves: 8 to 10
NOTE: If you want to give this a spicy kick, add 1 T hot pepper sauce along with the tomatoes.
