Recipe Introduction
This meatless chili combines three beans common in Mexican cooking, black beans, pinto beans and great northern beans. The recipes calls for canned beans, so it only takes 10 minutes to simmer the chili.
List of Ingredients
- 1 (28 oz) can peeled whole tomatoes, undrained, cut up
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (15.5 oz) can great northern beans, drained
- 1 (15.5 oz) can pinto beans, drained, rinsed
- 1 (15.5 oz) can black beans, drained, rinsed
- 1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chiles, undrained
- 2 T chili powder
- 2 tsps brown sugar
Instructions
- In large saucepan or Dutch oven, combine ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; cover and simmer 10 minutes to blend flavors.

For a quick weekend meal, serve this chili with warm cornbread twists and a tossed green salad made with diced tomato and avocado.
