Baked Acorn Squash

- 2 medium acorn squash
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- ground cinnamon
- ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Carefully cut the squash in half, then in quarters, forming eight boat shaped wedges. Scoop out the seeds.
- Place the squash, cut side up, in a shallow 9x13-inch baking dish. In the center of each, place 1 T of butter, 1 T brown sugar, a generous sprinkling of cinnamon, and a dash of nutmeg.
- Add 1/2" of hot water to the baking dish, taking care not to get any in the squash cavity. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the squash is soft and nicely browned. Drizzle pan juice on top before serving.
