    Beans can be the background for many flavors and ingredients. Garlic and sage are amazing.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 T olive oil
    • 4 T minced fresh sage leaves
    • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and smashed
    • two 15 to 19 oz cans white beans (northern or cannellini), rinsed and drained
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • pinch crushed red pepper flakes
    • balsamic vinegar to taste (optional)
    • parmesan cheese to taste (optional)


    Instructions


    1. In large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the sage and garlic, stirring constantly, for just 1 minute. Add the beans, season with salt and pepper to taste and, if desired, red pepper flakes.
    2. Heat, stirring occasionally, just until heated through. Serve, if desired, with a drizzle of vinegar and a few shavings of Parmesan.
