    CRISPY GARLIC PITA CHIPS

    Recipe Introduction

    Posted by: jd_az

    List of Ingredients

    2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced (she recommended more)
3 white or whole-wheat pita breads (she used both, and you have to use the pita pockets, not the flat bread)
    1/2 - 1 tsp. ground cumin

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine oil, garlic, and cumin and set aside. Cut each pita pocket into 8 triangles. Separate any of those that are joined at the outside edges. Place rough side up on a heavy baking sheet. Brush oil mixture sparingly onto top of pitas using a pastry brush. Bake until lightly browned, about 5 - 10 minutes. (Checking often)
Cool completely before storing. Makes about 36
Note: For fun, at Christmas she cuts the pitas with my cookie cutters so that she has chips shaped like trees, Santa's, bells, etc. She does the same at Easter, Halloween and Valentines Day.
You can also cut up the pita bread and spray with pam and sprinkle with garlic powder and cumin. This is my lazy adaptation.
