    Recipe Introduction

    List of Ingredients

3 pounds beef or pork roast
    1 12 oz can beer
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 cup water (tomato juice or wine is better)
    1 cup onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    2 TBS brown sugar
    1 TBS vinegar
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 bay leaf
    2 tsp salt
    1 tsp pepper
    ½ tsp ginger
    cornstarch to thicken gravy

    Recipe

Combine all ingredients (except meat) in Dutch oven. Mix well, add meat, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until meat is tender, 2 ½ to 3 hours. Discard bay leaf. Thicken gravy if desired. Can also be cooked in oven or crock pot. Double all ingredients except meat for lots of gravy. Can also be made like a stew with diced pieces of meat, but will need to cook less time. Can add potatoes and carrots.

This is my daughter's favorite meal. We always make double the gravy, I think she could eat it without the meat. I prefer pork, she prefers beef. Either way it is a good meal. We usually serve it with lots of mashed potatoes.
