    Recipe Introduction

This is a tried and true recipe I make quite often and adapted from a regular recipe to the bread machine. This makes 2 loaves of long baguette type french bread. It has wonderful flavor, is so easy to make, and is a wonderful addition to a meal of pasta or soup and it makes the best toast in the morning. You wont be disappointed - give it a try.

    List of Ingredients

    3 1/2 cups bread flour
    1 tsp salt
1 pkg active dry yeast (not quick rise)
    1 1/4 cups warm water

    Recipe

Put ingredients above in your bread machine according to the instructions of the machine manufacturer. (mine is water first, then dry ingredients with the yeast last) Start machine on dough setting. When dough cycle is complete, heat oven to warm. Remove dough with floured hands and cut in half on floured surface.

Take each half of dough and roll like a snake to make a loaf (about 12 inches long) in the shape of french bread. Place the 2 loaves on a greased baking sheet and cover with a towel. Turn off oven and place towel covered pan inside. Close oven door and let rise 45 minutes, turning pan around once after 20 minutes.

After rising, remove pan and towel, and heat oven to 450. When heated, return pan to oven to bake uncovered for approx 15-20 minutes until golden brown, turning pan around once halfway during baking process. Remove baked loaves to wire racks to cool
