    ROLLS, BUTTER

    Recipe Introduction

Posted by: kathyf1 This is a recipe that was originally in an old toh book. I tweaked it a bit and changed the way its baked. This recipe has never failed me and I have made it dozens of times! This is the favorite of my children

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup lukewarm milk
1/2 cup butter, softened not melted
    1/4 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    4 cups bread flour
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

    Recipe

In bread machine pan put all ingredients in as suggested by manufacturer. (for mine its the warm milk, softened butter and eggs on bottom with the flour, sugar, salt and yeast on top with the yeast being the last ingredient added.) When you have added all the ingredients choose the dough cycle, mine takes 90 mins start to finish.

When cycle is complete, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface, then divide into 24 equal size portions. Shape each roll by rolling them into balls in your hands. To make small dinner rolls as I do, spray a 13x9 inch baking pan with pam and place all 24 rolls in the pan (yes its a lot and they all just fit) if you want larger rolls, do just as above but use 2 13x9 sprayed pans. Cover pan(s) and place in a warm place for 30 mins. (if you want them higher, let rise additional 30 mins) Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for approx 15-20 mins or until golden. Makes 2 dozen

Note on rising: the best way to rise: after placing rolls in sprayed pans, turn oven to warm setting. Once heated to warm, turn oven off and place covered pan of rolls inside. Remove after 30-60 mins for a no fail rise, then bake as above.
