    Recipe Introduction

    Posted by: starshineeliz

I made Charity's Cheesy Garlic Bread and man, oh , man is that stuff good. I posted the recipe last week after she made it for her Mom's birthday dinner...it is so good...I love it hot, dipped in marinara...well, actually, I just used the spaghetti sauce I made...Honestly, that would have been a meal in itself, with ground beef in the sauce...it is so good, guys!

    List of Ingredients

3 large loaves of French Bread, as fresh as possible
1 lb butter, softened (4 sticks)
    3 tsp minced garlic
    2 tsp oregano
2 to 3 tsp parsley flakes
4 to 6 oz of freshly grated parmesan (important to grate your own)
3 to 4 cups of grated mozzarella

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350

In large bowl, blend softened butter with garlic, oregano, and parsley flakes
Gradually add parmesan and mozzarella, continuing to blend until well mixed

Slice French Bread loaves horizontally all the way across. Spread each half with equal
amounts of garlic spread. Place halves back together and wrap each loaf individually in
aluminum foil. Place loaves on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 30 min. After 30 min.,remove
from oven . Open loaves and broil tops of bread for just a couple of minutes until browning
    and cheese/butter mixture is bubbling.

Serve in slices with pasta sauce on the side for dipping

I used fresh parmesan ( in the little triangle) and mozzarella, the kind that comes in the little balls with the liquid in it...

This recipe makes enough for a dinner party...I cut it in half and then used that on two loaves and froze one for a quick dinner later.
