List of Ingredients
1-1/4 cup 100% bran
1-1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 beaten egg
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
Recipe
Coarsely crush a 1/4 cup of bran. Grease a 2qt round casserole dish & coat with crushed bran, set aside.
Place remaining bran in large bowl. Heat milk & butter & bring to a boil.; pour over bran & cool 30 minutes.
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water; stir in 1 tbsp maple syrup; let stand till bubbly & double in volume., about 15 minutes. Stir into bran mixture; add remaining syrup, egg. 3/4 cup flour, whole wheat flour & salt. With mixture at medium speed, beat 3 minutes; add remaining flour & stir till well combined. Spoon into prepared casserole dish; cover with wrap & let rise in warm place, 1 hr or until dough rises to top of dish. Bake at 350F 45 minutes, covering loosely with foil after 30 minutes. Remove form casserole dish & cool completely.
