    List of Ingredients




    1 24oz pkg. Simply hash browns (or any brand thawed hash browns)
    1/3 C margarine or butter - melted

    Melt butter and mix with hash browns. Bake at 400 in greased 10" deepdish pie pan for 25 min. While baking............

    Brown sausage (We love Jimmy Dean Hot or Sage..to each his own)
    with 1/2 C chopped onion. Drain.
    Stir in:
    3 eggs beaten
    1 C small curd cottage cheese
    4 slices american cheese broken into pieces.

    After crust has baked, reduce heat to 350, add sausage mixture and back 30-35 min. more. MUST let stand at least 5 min. to setup.
    This is so easy, the night before I'll bake the crust and set aside. Combine the sausage mixture and put in fridg. In the morning I bring things to near room temp. , combine and bake at 350.
    I usually make two pies, one plain and the other with green chili's
