    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
    3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/2 cup strong-brewed coffee
    2 cups sugar
    3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    1 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, opt

    Recipe

    1. Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with foil.
    2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the melted butter with the cocoa powder and add the brewed coffee. Mix well.
    3. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Carefully stir in the flour and nuts, but just until combined.
    4. Pour the mixture into the pan, spreading it out to cover the pan evenly.
    5. Bake for 25 minutes at 350º F or until toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
    6. Cool completely on a wire rack, then cut into squares.
    Yield: 12 large brownies

    Coffee Sauce
    1 cup heavy cream
1 cup very strong brewed Original Blend coffee or Hazelnut coffee
    3 egg yolks
    1 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1. In a medium, heavy saucepan, scald together the cream and coffee.
    2. In a medium-sized bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar for 8 to 10 minutes by hand or with the electric mixer until mixture is very thick and lemon-colored. Gradually beat in the warm coffee mixture.
    3. Put the incorporated mixture into the saucepan and simmer over low heat, stirring until the mixture boils, and then thickens. Add in the vanilla.
    4. Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool slightly, then put the sauce into a glass bowl. Cover, and chill until the sauce is very cold. To serve, just spoon over brownies and serve.
    Yield: 2-2 1/2 cups
