    Recipe Introduction

    Posted by: MytFly

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    1 stick butter, melted
4 oz. (squares) unsweetened chocolate, melted
    2 large eggs
    2 T. water
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chocolate chips

    Recipe

Combine flour, soda and salt. Stir together sugar, butter and chocolate, eggs, water and vanilla vigorously in large bowl. Stir in flour mixture. Add nuts and chips. Spread into greased 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 (what I call a brownie or biscuit pan) or a 13x9 pan. Bake 22 min at 350.

My notes: I always use real unsalted butter. Most times, I don't use either the nuts or chocolate chips, but they are great if you want to use them. To me, the size of the brownies is perfect if you bake them in a "brownie" pan because I don't like thin brownies, and they definitely would be thinner in a 13x9. I think if I didn't have a brownie pan I'd try a 9" square pan and bake a little longer.

I've been making these for a long time and everyone loves them. These are more of a "homey" kind of brownie. The new King Arthur ones are more complex, more of a gourmet brownie. I'm sure I'll go back to the Super-Gooies for everyday (well, maybe not EVERY day!) but I will definitely make the KAs again.
