    List of Ingredients




    1 cup granulated sugar
    8 ounces sour cream
    2 eggs
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    2 cups flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 1/4 cups peeled, chopped tart apples
    1 cup chopped pecans
    1/4 cup butter
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar

    In mixing bowl, combine sugar, sour cream, eggs and vanilla; beat at medium speed of
    mixer for 2 full minutes.

    Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; gradually fold into creamed mixture until
    mixed and all is moist.

    Fold in apples and pecans. Pour into greased and floured 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.

    Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in
    pan 10 minutes.

    While bread is cooling, in a saucepan combine butter and brown; cook until mixture boils.
    Lower heat and boil gently for 1 minute. Remove bread from pan and drizzle hot syrup
    slowly over bread. Cool completely before slicing.
