    Recipe Introduction

Posted by: jd_az This comes out of the Kitchenaid mixer cookbook,

    List of Ingredients

    1 c butter, softened
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1-1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 c a/p flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    1 pkg (14oz) caramels
    1/2 cup evaporated milk

    Recipe

Place butter & sugar in mixer bowl. Attach bowl & flat beater to mixer. Turn to speed 4 and beat until creamy, about 1 minutes. Stop and scape bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; beat about 30 seconds, or until smooth. Stop and scrape bowl.
Turn to stir speed. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt to mixture. Mix about 1 minutes , or until well blended. Spreat 1/2 to 2/3 of mixture in a greased 13x9x2 in baking pan. Bake at 350 for 7 or 8 minutes. Let cook 5 minutes on a wire rack.
Meanwhile, melt caramels in evap milk in a nonstick saucepan over very low heat. Reserve 2 tbsp. Pour remaining caramel over bottom layer. Drop dollops of remaining dough over caramel layer; swirl slightly with knife.
Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. When completely cooled, cut into squares. Drizzle with reserved caramel, heating as necessary, if desired.
Yield: 36 servings (one 1 inch blondie per person) Yeah, right....lol.
