    Runny Butter Tarts

    List of Ingredients

    Place oven rack at its lowest level. Line 12 tart pan with pastry.
    In a mixing bowl whisk until blended
    2 eggs
    Then whisk in
    2 tsp vanilla
    2 Tbsp milk
    Stir in until evenly mixed
    1 1/2 cups brown sugar
    1/4 cup melted butter
    In bottom of shells scatter equally
    1/2 cup raisins

    Recipe

    Over top of raisins pour egg mixture
    Bake in preheated 375*F oven until
    filling is bubbly and top is crusty
    from 20-25 min. Watch closely
    Remove from oven to cooling rack.
    They are best eaten fresh from the oven
    Watch the dribble...it can burn.
    Variation-Replace raisins with
    1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts.


    IF YOU had trouble with butter tarts - I had the same and found the difference is in the baking time.

    Bake on the bottom rack of the oven at 425 degrees and for runny tarts, I suggest 12 or 13 minutes. I cook my tarts for 14 minutes and they are more like jelly, slightly juicy but firmer.
