    Posted by: dowie ********We went to a potluck yesterday so I made these cupcakes for the kids, decorated them with pink frosting, etc... They were a hit. An old family recipe from my mom. She used it for cake or cupcakes.

    List of Ingredients




    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    1/4 cup cocoa
    1/2 cup hot water
    1 egg
    1/2 cup sour cream
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 1/4 cups flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda

    Recipe



    Beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Dissolve the cocoa in hot water and add to creamed mixture along with the egg, sour cream and vanilla. Beat until well mixed.
    Slowly beat in the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
    Spoon into 12 sprayed or paper lined muffins cups. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes. Cool.
    Frost and decorate.
