    List of Ingredients




    2 cups sugar
    2 cups flour
    1 stick margarine (1/2 cup)
    1/2 cup Crisco Shortening
    4 tablespoons cocoa
    1 cup cold water
    1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk
    (to sour add a little vinegar to milk)
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs

    Frosting:
    1 stick margarine
    4 tablespoons cocoa
    5 tablespoons milk or water
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup nuts
    3 3/4 - 4 cups powdered sugar

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

    Put in large mixing bowl 2 cups sugar and 2 cups flour.

    Put in saucepan: 1 stick margarine, shortening, 4 tablespoons cocoa, and cold water. Bring to boil and pour over flour and sugar mixture; mix well.

    Add the sour milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, cinnamon, soda, salt and eggs. Mix well. Pour into 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. Bake for 20 minutes.

    Five minutes before cake is done, combine and bring to a boil: 1 stick margarine, 4 tablespoons cocoa, milk or water. Remove from heat and add vanilla, nuts and powdered sugar.

    Beat frosting until smooth and spread on hot cake right out of oven.
