    Apple Crunch Cake

    Source of Recipe

    BBR

    Recipe Introduction

It is one of our favorite recipes with apples in the fall. It makes a small recipe using a 9 in pan which is just right for the two of us, or you can double for regular cake pan size. I got this recipe from my SIL who got it from a Dutch cookbook in the 60's. One of the things I like is there is no need to frost but I do sometimes serve it with ice cream. This was posted by Nindsy on BB.

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1 Cup Sugar
    1 Egg
    1 Teaspoon vanilla
    1 Teaspoon soda
    1 Teaspoon milk
    1 Cup Flour
    1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg
2 Cups finely chopped apples (I used Jonathon and have used Granny Smith)
    1/2 cup pecans

    Topping
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon

    Recipe

Combine butter, sugar, egg and vanilla, mix well. Add soda and milk. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix until well blended. Stir in apples and nuts. Place in greased 9 inch pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees fro 35 minutes
