    List of Ingredients




    1 ib. raisins
    3/4 cup lard
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup cold water
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp clove
    1 tbsp soda
    3 to 4 cups flour

    Recipe



    Boil raisins in 1 cup water for 15 minutes. Add the 3/4 cup lard, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water. The cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and 1 tbsp of soda dissolved in warm water. Add 3 to 4 cups of flour as needed Bake in moderate oven 1 hour.

    This recipe was taken from Grandmaw Harbaugh's own handwritten cook book the pages hav been turned many times and the pencil writing has become very dim but still ledgible. She was the mother of 5 girls and 1 boy and most people in the congregation is in some way related to her.
