    Aunt Zora's Pecan Pralines

    Recipe Introduction

    Posted by: bettina_bettina_TX********This recipe is one that my aunt gave me. These are the best pralines I've ever tasted. I have several people who bring me the ingredients every Christmas and I make these for them. I probably make 20 batches every Christmas. Everyone expects a plate of these pralines

    List of Ingredients

    1 box light brown sugar
    1 cup whipping cream
    2 T. light Karo
    1 pinch salt

    1 quart pecans
    1 T. butter or margarine
    1 t. vanilla

    Recipe

    Combine first four ingredients in 2 quart sauce pan. Cook to the soft ball stage, stirring occasionally. When the soft ball stage is reached, remove from heat. Immediately add pecans, butter and vanilla. Turn mixture until pecans are well coated and lose their gloss. Drop in mounds on wax paper to harden. This recipe makes about 30 candies depending on the size you make. (My sister makes them larger than I do and gets about 20.)

    You must work quickly before mixture hardens in the pan.
    ~~~Hint: If this happens, there is usually a small amount of cream left in the carton, you can add this and heat mixture slightly. Continue.... Good luck and happy eating.
