    Source of Recipe

    BBR

    Recipe Introduction

Posted by: dowie **********I made this chili a few days ago, I'm not a great fan of chili, but thought this was very good! A little hot for me though! LOL DH loved it!

    List of Ingredients

    2 lb ground beef
    1 onion, chopped fine
    1-2 cloves garlic
1-2 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
    salt & pepper
    water
    cayenne, optional
    2-3 tbsp chili ppowder
    1 tbsp cumin
    8 oz tomato sauce
    2 tbsp flour
    1/2 cup water

    Recipe

Saute the meat in a large skillet. While the meat is still hot, mix in onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Let it sit for 30 minutes to give the meat a good flavor.
Add enough water to cover the meat, and add the spices - cayenne, chili powder and cumin, bring to a simmer. Cook until meat is tender. Add more water if it becomes too dry. Add tomato sauce and simmer another 20 minutes.
Mix the flour and water. Raise the heat under the chili until you get a good boil, stir in flour mixture, continue stirring until it starts to thicken. Reduce heat and simmer 15 more minutes.

    optional:
~ Put the onion, garlic and jalapeno in the blender and puree so you don't have lumps in chili.
    ~ Add oregano and basil.
