    This cookie recipe is my all time favorite. My grandmother made them frequently and whenever I smell them baking, I think about her. These gingersnaps are very crunchy, perfect for dunking in coffee

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 cup Crisco
    2 Tb margarine
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 cup molasses
    2 cups flour
    1/2 tsp ground cloves
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 ground ginger
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp cinnamon

    Recipe



    Mix all dry ingredients (except sugar) and set aside. Cream Crisco, margarine, and sugar. Add egg and molasses-mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Roll into 1 inch balls roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350* for about 10 minutes or until tops are cracked and bottoms are light brown.

    Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies
