    Recipe Introduction

    Posted by: chefly
I'm going to give you the original recipe which makes about 50 large 5" cookies or about 200 smaller 2 1/2" cookies. In parenthesis I will put the amounts to use for a "normal" sized batch of cookies - it makes about 50 of the 2 1/2" cookies.

    List of Ingredients

4 cups brown sugar (1 cup)
3 cups white sugar (3/4 cup)
    6 eggs (2 eggs)
4 sticks butter, softened (1 stick)
    1 Tbs. vanilla (1 tsp.)
    2 Tbs. water (2 tsp.)
1 Tbs. butter flavoring (1 tsp.)
6 cups chocolate chips (2 cups)
    12 cups flour (3 cups)
    1 Tbs. salt (1 tsp.)
1 Tbs. baking soda (1 tsp.)

    Recipe

Cream the butter using a mixer; add the eggs, vanilla, water, and butter flavoring. Mix well. Add both sugars and mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips. In a separate large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking soda. Pour the sugar/butter/chocolate chip mixture into the flour mixture and stir by hand until thoroughly combined. The dough will be very stiff. Scoup out the dough with an ice cream scoop and form into a 4" patty that is at least 1/2" thick. Arrange on an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees until lightly golden, about 15 minutes. To make a smaller cookies, use a smaller cookie scoop or take a big handful of dough and pat out 1/2" thick and cut out circles with a biscuit cutter.
