    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 c. chopped apples

    Recipe



    Cream sugar and shortening until very light. Add egg;
    mix. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Stir in
    apples; drop in balls on greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15
    minutes in 375 degrees oven
