The frosting recipe I've always used for Red Velvet Cake didn't call for cooking the flour and milk although I know most other people did cook it.
Cream 1 stick butter, 8 T. Criso and 1 c. sugar together. Add 3 T. flour, one T. at a time. Add 3/4 C. milk, which is at room temperature and then 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat wellRecipe
