How to "preserve" your Christmas Tree

    Recipe Introduction

    List of Ingredients

I always use warm water... don't know if it really makes a difference, but it's worked for us.

A Christmas tree grower told me this several years ago and it really works. The first time only - add one can sprite and about 2 tablespoons of bleach. Don't know what it does, but it helps the tree to absorb the water better

    Recipe

I grew up in a family that sold Christmas trees so I know a bit. You need to cut the stump at an angle, if you don't have an axe or hatchet get the guy at the tree lot to do it for you. Make sure you get it in water as soon as possible. They say to make an angle cut as it exposes more of the inside of the tree and therefore it can suck up more water. Sugar and water works but 7-up is another option, just mix it 50/50 with water. Your tree should be watered everyday.
