    List of Ingredients




    1-1/2 pounds of ground beef (veg. beef)
    1-1/2 tsp salt( did not use)
    3/4 tsp celery salt(used less)
    1 tsp oregano leaves(used dried)
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    1/8 tsp garlic powder(1/2 tsp.)
    2-3 Tbs shortening( used olive oil)
    3 Tbs flour (omitted)
    4 cups of sliced green peppers (4 peppers, thinly sliced)
    1-1/2 cups, sliced onion
    2 cups of beef broth (veg. beef)
    1 Tbs flour (2 Tbsp.)
    2 Tbs water( did not use)

    Recipe



    Combine ground meat and spices, form into 1-1/2" balls. Roll into 3 Tbs of the flour then brown in the shortening, adding as needed. Stir in the green peppers and onions and brown lightly. Add the bouillon, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Mix remaining flour with the water add to the pan and cook till thick. Serve with potatoes or rice.

    I browned the meatballs in olive oil without the flour, then removed them from the pan and added the peppers and onion. After they were cooked, I stirred in the flour, then the broth and the meatballs. I brought it to a boil, then covered and simmered for 15 min. I served it over whole wheat noodles. chefly
    I mixed the flour with some of the broth to make a paste, then added to the pan to thicken. I also removed the meat balls from the pan while browning the peppers and onions, returned to the pan once this step was finished, then completed.
