    2 cups all purpose flour
    1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    ½ teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/3 cup dark molasses
    1/4 cup milk
    1/4 cup butter or margarine melted
    1 large egg
    2 medium Rome Beauty or Golden Delicious Apples, peeled and finely chopped (about 2 cups)
    1/3 cup chopped pecans, toasted
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    2 ½ tablespoons all purpose flour
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    2 tablespoons butter or margarine

    Recipe



    Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl, set aside; Whisk molasses and next 3 ingredients in a small bowl until well blended. Add molasses mixture to flour mixture, stir just until moistened. Gently stir in apples and pecans. Spoon muffin batter into greased or paper lined muffin pan, filling two-thirds full.
    Combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 ½ tablespoons flour and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a small bowl, cut in 2 tablespoons butter with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resemble crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over muffin batter. Bake at 400 degrees for 22 - 25 minutes or until golden. Remove to wire racks and let cool completely.
