    List of Ingredients

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 T. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 cup margarine, melted
    1 cup sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup buttermilk
    1&1/2 cups dried cherries
    TOPPING:
    2&1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1&1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened and cut into small pieces

    Recipe

    Bake at 325º.
Grease and flour 16 large muffin cups.
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
In a large bowl, beat margarine and sugar until fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add the eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately.
Fold in cherries.(I used scissors in a small dish, a few at a time, and cut into tiny pieces.)
    Spoon batter into muffin cups.
Prepare topping by cutting the butter into flour and sugar.
Sprinkle over buns, but not over the edges of the cups.
    Bake 20-25 minutes.
    Makes 16.

Note: Chocolate chips or chopped, fresh apples, as well as any other dried fruits, can be substituted.I've made these a few times and they are delicious.Buns are just another way of saying MUFFINS!
