    Recipe Introduction

    Posted by: justyouandme20002001

    List of Ingredients

3 cups sifted all purpose flour
    1 teas. salt
1 cup butter or margarine(or a blend of the two. I use part shortening myself)
    1 large egg, slightly beaten
2 Tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar
1/4 to 1/3 cup ICE water

    Recipe

Sift the flour and salt together into large bowl. Cut in the butter (and shortening if you use it) just until the pieces are the size of small peas. Combine egg, lemon juice or vinegar and water. Stir into the flour mixture just to hold the dough together, blending with a kitchen fork or pastry cutter. Roll out on a lightly floured breadboard or between two sheets of waxed paper.

Good luck and don't give up. Just remember to not handle it more than is necessary to mix the ingredients

    A few tips.

To prevent the overhandling try not to mix the dough very much. Once the liquid is incorporated put all the ingredients in a Ziplock bag. Push the excess flour into the dough you have already formed and let it rest in the fridge for a few hours. The flour will absorb the water and you will barely have to touch it when you pull it out.
