    Lard Pie Crust Anyone

    Posted by: sasksunshine Here is a recipe I got from my mother -in -law and it works ev time. I have given it to a lot of people and it works for them.

    List of Ingredients

    1 lb lard (not shortning)
    1 tbsp salt
    1 cup boiling water
    41/2 to 5 cups flour

    Recipe

    Have the lard at room temperature. Soft) add 1 tbsp salt and pour over l cup of boiling water. Beat with an electric mixer till nice and creamy. Then add the flour. You can tell by the consistency if 4 1/2 is enough flour. It is right for me. Mix into a smooth ball. Place in frig to cool down. When it is cool roll out. Works everytime,


    it makes a large recipe. You can divide into the size you like for a single or dble crust pie and freeze as well.
