    Recipe Introduction

    Posted by: candykisses_Oklahoma*******Serves: 12
    Effort: easy
Comments: I have quadrupled this recipe with great success. The hardest thing about this roll recipe is convincing people how very easy they are. When I take the rolls to get togethers I usually get rave reviews and they just don't believe me how easy they are to make, until I convince them to give it a try

    List of Ingredients

    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    1 egg slightly beaten
    1 c. scalded milk (microwave 2 min.)
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 t. salt
    3-1/2 c. flour

    Recipe

Mix dry yeast & warm water. Sprinkle very lightly with a touch of sugar. Let set 10 min.
Combine milk, sugar, salt & shortening.
    Mix well.
    Add 1-1/2 c. flour
    Beat well.
    Add yeast & egg.
    Mix well.
Add remaining flour. Beating well. Make sure the flour pulls away from sides of bowl. If needed add a little flour at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Pam bowl & put bread in. also Pam bread.
Put in warm place, cover & let rise 1-1/2 hrs.
Punch down & shape into rolls
    Let raise another 30 - 45 min.
Heat oven to 375 & let cook 12 - 15 min. or until golden brown.

    Refrigerator rolls:
    DO NOT LET RISE.
Put in well greased bowl, & put immediately in refrig. Cover well.
Will stay 4-5 days in refrigerator
When ready to use, shape into rolls.
    Put out on greased pan.
Cover & let raise in warm place about 1-1/2 hrs.
    Heat oven to 375 & let cook 12 - 15

    Make Ahead Rolls:
After shaping the rolls, cover tightly and put in the refrigerator. 2 hours before wanting the rolls, set rolls out (be sure to have them covered) and let rise for 1 1/2 hours. Then bake.
