    Recipe Introduction

Posted by: momof3boysinok******I got this recipe from my MIL and it is wonderful. I also use the same yeast roll recipe to make cinnamon rolls that are oh so yummy!

    List of Ingredients

1 pkg. rapid rise dry yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 c. milk
    2 T crisco shortening
    2 T sugar
    1 t. salt
    3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
    1 egg

    Recipe

In a large mixing bowl place pkg of yeast and 1/4 c lukewarm water and set aside. (let that yeast get to work HE HE )

In a sauce pan put the milk, sugar, salt, and crisco and stir until the shortening is melted. Let cool down a bit then whisk in the egg.

Alternate the flour and milk mixture adding to the yeast mix until kind of elastic like. give a few more stirs and it should form into a ball pretty easily.

Cover and set to rise. You will know it is finished rising when it has almost doubled its size.

Turn out dough on floured surfact and knead. Roll out dough to about 1 inch thickness. I take a small glass to cut my rolls. Also instead of having to re roll the dough I just sort of keep the edges crimped up after i cut one roll. This makes about 15 rolls.

You will need to grease and flour your baking dish also.

Place in a warm place and let rise. ( again they will almost double in size. I cover them with plastic wrap with some non stick cooking spray on it so that it will not stick to them.)

Bake at 350 for about 10-15 minutes or until tops are golden. Remove from oven and brush butter on the top.

**Now if you want to make this recipe into the most wonderful cinnamon rolls you make the dough as stated before.

You roll the dough into an oval pattern and about 1/2 in thick.

** in a small sauce pan 1 cup sugar 1 stick parkay 2 t. cinnamon

Spread this mixture onto your dough and roll as you would a jelly roll. Cut into rolls. Place in prepared pan and let rise. Bake as you would the rolls.

Hope you enjoy! My family loves these. I know it sounds lenghty, but really it is quick and easy and very deliscious.
