    Homemade Kettle Corn

    Recipe Introduction

    List of Ingredients

3T canola or other vegetable oil
    1/3 c unpopped popcorn kernals
    3T sugar
    salt to taste

    Recipe

In the bottom of a medium sauce pan place oil, pour popcorn over top. Turn stove on med-high. When oil starts to sizzle (before popping starts) sprinkle on the sugar. Be careful to get sugar only on the popcorn and not directly on the bottom of the pan or it can burn and become nasty

Once popping starts, put lid on pan and lower heat slightly. shake pan back and forth while popping - listen carefully for popping to slow down or stop. When it does carefully pour into a large bowl and mix with a wooden spoon while you sprinkle with salt. be careful that melted sugar will stick to your hands and burn.

This sounds like it is complicated but it is not. It is very tasty and the perfect combo of salt and sweet!

NOTE: don't be surprised if you are left with a lot of unpopped kernals - that happens to me all the time. I would rather have some unpopped than have some burned
