    List of Ingredients




    about 3 qts

    2-1/2 quarts popped pop corn
    1/2 cup corn syrup
    1/3 cup water
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 cup (1/2 stick=4 tblsps) butter OR margarine, cut into pieces
    1 tsp pure vanilla extract
    food coloring

    Into large heatproof bowl, pour popped pop corn; set aside.

    In med saucepan, combine corn syrup, water, sugar & salt. Cook over med heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves & mixture comes to a boil. With pastry brush frequently dipped in hot water, wash down side of pan to remove sugar crystals. Insert candy thermometer. Continue to cook until mixture reaches hard-ball stage (255ºF). Remove from heat. Whisk in butter & vanilla. Add food coloring, a few drops at a time, until desired color is obtained. Immediately pour sugar mixture over pop corn, stirring until completely coated. Spread pop corn on 2 large baking sheets. Cool slightly; shape into balls or leave as clusters.

    HINT: Remove any unpopped kernels before measuring popped pop corn.
